Liven up your time spent decorating your home for Christmas by involving your kids. Not only do they get to enjoy a ton of fun at home, but they can also retain beautiful memories of bonding time with you. Or otherwise, you can get busy with your stuff and leave them to do the work. Well, that was what I did.
Get A Small Christmas Tree That Kids Can Reach
Keep to a small Christmas tree they can reach and wait for them to create magic.
We decorated our living room with a 120cm Christmas tree. The tree does not have to be expensive. You can get one online for around $20. The girls did everything by themselves, and I merely guided them in fluffing up the artificial tree.
Armed with pretty supplies from Daiso, they came up with a simple yet pretty-looking Christmas tree in no time.
The girls loved the expandable cotton snow, which created a snowy ambience on the tree. We also place the sparkling green garland around the tree, which give it a more glamorous look. The kids loved Christmas balls and cute character ornaments, so hanging them up the tree is a must.
They subsequently added more decorative ornaments for a homey, cosy feel.
Paper Snowflakes
The girls found more inspiration subsequently and cut some snowflakes to add to their Christmas tree. Scroll down to the bottom of the post for a youtube video on making snowflakes. I did not create that video :p
The girls cut the squares a tad too big. If you want to try out the artwork, prepare smaller squares to hang the snowflakes on the tree. You can find origami papers from Daiso, which are the perfect size and thickness for the Christmas tree. Unfortunately, we ran out of ours. White looks excellent too!
