Sterra Breeze Air Purifier Review – A Necessity At Home

If you have kids or other family members with sensitive airways at home, an excellent air purifier is an absolute necessity at home.

A Good Air Purifier Is Indispensable For Our Home

In my household including 4 young kids, the majority of us have sensitive airways that cause us to suffer from either sinus, asthma or even both at the same time. Encounters from flying dust over the years gave us a ton of problems with countless trips to the hospital. Hence I know we need to maintain good air quality at home.

The air purifier is a must-have at home to help us address our 3 major concerns with the surrounding air.

Our low-floor unit faces a school with numerous school buses driving past us every day. Due to the exhaust fumes emitted by these diesel-powered coaches, the level of dust at home has multiplied as compared to our previous nest.

Air quality in our neighbourhood suffers a dip when the wind from the North brings along volatile organic compounds emitted by the nearby industrial complex across the Straits. We can smell the difference when it comes.

The haze produced by the seasonal unstoppable forest fires in the neighbouring countries is a force to be reckoned with too.

Sterra Breeze Air Purifier Review

Sterra Breeze Air Purifier arrives in time as we retire our oldest air purifier which we bought several years ago. We have accumulated a couple of air purifiers from various brands over the years as our needs grow.

Compared with the older models we own, Sterra Breeze is the quietest and easiest to install.

Sterra Breeze Air Purifier Review

My curious 11-year-old unboxed and installed the air purifier entirely by herself.

Medical Grade True HEPA-13 Filter

Sterra Breeze uses a medical-grade True HEPA-13 filter which removes up to 99.97% of all airborne particles including viruses and secondhand smoke. It covers a 3 to 4-room HDB flat of about 80m² and delivers 400 m3/hr of fresh, clean air.

When you are selecting an air purifier, always take note of the grade of the HEPA filter in use. Up-to-date air purifiers are using HEPA-13 to H14 which are currently the highest tier of HEPA. These tiers are considered medical-grade quality and can trap 99.95% and 99.995% of such particles, respectively.

A True HEPA filter can trap dust, smoke, pet allergens, dangerous particles that are 2.5 microns or smaller (i.e.PM2.5).

Sterra Breeze Air Purifier Review

I love how easy it is to insert and remove the air filter. Cleaning is effortless too. Simply pull out the air filter to vacuum, or wipe with a dry dust cloth. Do sterilize the filter under the sunlight regularly too.

Check out the dirt collected after a week’s use.

The filter button will turn red after the machine detects the filter is saturated after running for 2200 hours. This is roughly 1 year’s worth of usage assuming the air purifier is turned on for 6 hours on a daily basis.

Efficiency and Low Price

It took me only a quick search on the internet to confirm that Sterra Breeze is one of the most cost-effective air purifiers in the Singapore market when compared spec-for-spec with the other well-known brands.

Its replacement air filter is not only affordable but has a longer shelf life.

Even its power consumption of 48W is one of the lowest in the market, considering its huge area of coverage at 80m² that not many other air purifiers can provide.

Sterra Breeze Operates Silently

I am very impressed by how quiet Sterra Breeze operates. Supported by the Silent-VX Motor, I forget about its existence when the machine is in Medium Mode and Night Mode. My fan and air-conditioner are definitely noisier.

By the way, see the number displayed in the video above? It indicated the air quality detected by the sensor in the air purifier.

Child-Lock Function

When a machine is too easy to use, kids meddle with them and press the function buttons all day long. After a while, the buzzer from the air purifier irks me tremendously. This is when the Child Lock comes in. Press on the Light function for a few seconds, and Child Lock Mode is turned on. Shhh…. don’t let the twins know.

We are truly satisfied with the product. Our Sterra Breeze is now working hard to suck in all the daily soot emitted from the school buses.

Want to Get Your Sterra Breeze Air Purifier too?

The Sterra Breeze Air Purifier originally retails for $539 and comes with a 3-year warranty. You can get yours for just $349 via their website https://sterra.sg/mychirpylife as they are currently having a New Year Sale.

The filters for replacement are also available from the same website.

Do check out their water purifiers too! I am super tempted to get their tankless water purifier as I will soon be without a helper at home. With 4 kids at home, I am not looking forward to spending time filling up our water flasks all day long.
