The Prestige Hotel in Penang – Highly Recommended

We chanced upon the Prestige Hotel* in Penang while researching for accommodation in Penang. Newly opened in 2019, the Prestige Hotel is a luxury homegrown hospitality label located in the heart of Georgetown UNESCO world heritage site. It is located approximately 30 minutes away from Penang International Airport. If you hire a Grab, it will probably cost you around MYR 30 during peak hours.

If you’re a die heart fan of rose gold and tropical, don’t bother looking for other hotels in Penang. THIS IS THE HOTEL FOR YOU!

The hotel’s facade shouts colonial Victorian style. It is charming in its own unique way, and you can’t find it anywhere else in Penang. Whimsical and magical.

The entrance of the hotel is bland but still a pretty sight. Check out the beautiful rose gold lining on the doors. As you step in, you’ll see a concierge counter decorated with rose gold and lots of mirrors. Even the staffs wore very well-themed and intricately designed uniforms.

There are a few rattan chairs for you to sit around, not too many but just enough for the incoming guests, many who were taking their OOTD here.

Dusty pink, smoky grey, marble design

The dining area is located in the bright clean glasshouse where you get your welcome drink.

During our stay, we saw the locals having their birthday party/baby shower party in one section of the glasshouse. There is also a small gym and a small infinity pool located on the 4th floor of the hotel.

Moving on to the rooms, I promise these rooms will leave a good impression.

DELUXE ROOM

Check out the shower area that is right smacked in the middle of the room!

I was captivated by the fully transparent glass shower area surrounded by the racks of rose gold bars. If you’re spending the night with an acquaintance, you probably may want to skip this hotel. Although there is a curtain inside the shower area for more private, there is no lock for the door and no hook to hang your clothes inside.

The highlight of the room lol

I just need to feature this toilet bowl with the botanical wallpaper.

Bedding wise, there is enough space to put an additional single size bed awkwardly right below the TV.

The quality in-house soaps come with a nice essential fragrance. My mother-in-law likes the shampoo a lot as she raves about how soft her hair feels.

Their thoughtful essential kits are also customised with drawings of the hotel.

TRIO ROOM

I wondered why would the hotel build a trio room instead of a quadrant room. No idea. Anyway, it was an excellent choice for us since we needed room for 3 pax.

This room is not as luxurious as deluxe. However again, I was amazed by the amount of rose gold and geometrical design of the room. Thank goodness the shower room here has more privacy. You don’t have to run out naked to collect your clothes.

There is a king-size bed in the master bedroom and a single bed next door. With the bed tugged to the side, there is sufficient space to put your luggage and enjoy your privacy for the night.

Even pencils come in botanical style, lol.

The rooms which we stayed in were sparkling clean and we had no complaint, except there was some drilling debris on a small area of the floor.

On a side note, I would not recommend the breakfast there since Penang is a foodie place!

There is definitely room of improvement for the hotel. Nevertheless, if you ask whether I’ll travel to Penang because of this hotel, I might say yes!
