Fort Canning Jubilee Park Playground- It is Magical!

My girls certainly had so much fun in this beautifully landscaped outdoor Jubilee Park Playground. It has lots of slides, swings and sand. and the best of all, it is free!

The only inadequacy? It is not shaded and too popular, i.e. very crowded.

Lots of Swings

If you are travelling to the Jubilee Park Playground via the MRT, turn right when you reach the street level of the exit of Fort Canning MRT. The playground is just a minute walk away, on the western slope of Fort Canning Hill.

You will first reach the swing section. There are many swings there, maybe six or eight? Consisting of variations to cater to different age groups.

We reached the park near 4 pm. There were already many kids running around despite the sun and the heat. All the swings were taken by kids, so I did not take photos of those occupied swings.

Logs to Climb and Balance On

The entire design of the Jubilee Park Playground blends into the surrounding greenery.

Using logs as climbing structure is a wonderful way to play in nature.

There are 2 sub-sections in the log zone, one for the preschoolers, and the other challenging one is for the spirited bigger kids.

The log structure below is challenging for my 2 girls who are going four years old. The logs are narrow and hard to walk on. These beams are also placed high up above their heads, and rather far apart from one and another, such that most little kids find it difficult to conquer the structure independently.

In fact, one of my twins slipped a few times from the slender logs. Thankfully, I was there to catch her before she reached the ground.

A Net To Climb Over

Don’t be mistaken. This is not a bouncing net. I have verified it myself, the net is not bouncy.

My girls didn’t spend much time here. But I witnessed previously an awesome way to play on this net -by running up the “wings” at the side, then let gravity pull you down.

There are 2 mega seesaws to play on, or rather, climb on, as well.

A Lot of Slides in the Park

There are a couple of slides laid along the slope. The girls glided down and climbed up over again. With a variety of features such as boulders, rock climbing tiles, logs and simply grass patch beside the slides, play is endless.

Practical Stuffs

You will be happy to know that there is a water fountain available in the park to quench your thirst after a session of tireless play, and taps for washing up. Sand play is really messy.

Do bring along your insect repellent too. You may like to check out this post for our natural mosquito repellent recipe.

While there is no toilet facility, the MRT station is just a minute away.
