Discovering Playgrounds – Children’s Playground in Gardens by the Bay

We went to the Children’s Playground in Gardens by the Bay once when the children were younger. They were about 4 & 5 years old then. With improved physical capabilities and mental strength, they appreciated the playground a lot better this time round.

Adventure Trail

We were immediately welcomed by the Adventure Trail (meant for age 6 to 12 years old) at the entrance of the playground. The lush canopy in the surrounding means that we can enjoy the playground any time of the day! But still, with the blazing heat in Singapore, it is best to venture into the park in the late afternoon.

The trail starts off with balancing beam, balancing bridge and the monkey bar.

Children's Playground

The big kid here simply couldn’t resist climbing up the nets. Perhaps I was a monkey in my previous life.

The highlight of the 130m Adventure Trail is the two alluring tree houses reach heights of 4 metres and 7.5 metres respectively.

This is the 2nd and 3rd level of the taller tree house.

The picture below shows the ground level under the taller tree house, surrounded by nests accessible from the 2nd level.

A point to note when climbing up the rope: Avoid standing directly under another person as the sand from his shoes may fall into your eyes.

The rope climbing was pretty challenging. I was tired after three rounds of climbing to the third level. But we were rewarded with a pleasant scenery of the surrounding landscapes after making it to the top.

The kids can rest in these little nests if they are tired out from the rope climbing.

This is the shorter treehouse.

Water Play Area

The Water Play is apparently linked to sensors that detect the children’s movements and create corresponding water effects.

As our visit to the park was a spontaneous one, we did not prepare the kids with swimsuits. Anyway, the children had sufficiently expended their energy during their time spent at the tree house.

Toddler Play Area

I am certain we will be back with our twins to enjoy this part of the playground soon.

Right outside the Children’s Playground

The children had another round of fun playing with sand, while we adults had some quiet moments and took in the beautiful sceneries in front of us.

Going There

The Children’s Playground is located next to the Flower Dome. Click here for the detailed guide on how to get to Gardens by the Bay.

Note that the park is closed on every Monday for maintenance and bring extra clothing. They will get wet if they are going into the Water Play.

Also bring along sunscreen and insect repellent.
