Enjoy Learning CVCs With Bingo (Short Vowels ‘a’ and ‘e’)

We have been homeschooling for over 2 years. Along the way, I created a lot of customized activities for my preschoolers to facilitate their learning. These activities include a number of bingo board games for learning alphabets, numbers and the Chinese language in a fun way.

Our latest creation is CVC Bingo for little kids to learn reading simple words.

What are CVCs? CVCs are 3-letter words that start with a consonant, with a vowel in the middle, and end with another consonant. Examples of CVCs are “sat”, “fan”,”leg” and “met”.

Before introducing CVCs your little ones, they should already be familiar with how each alphabet sound.

If your child is showing readiness in reading, the CVC Bingo Board Board is one effective way to help your child learn simple words.

Contents:

24 Bingo Game Cards
70 CVC Flashcards
64 tokens

Accompanying flashcards with photos that depict the meaning of the words.

You can get your hands on the set through my Shopee account.

How to Play:

Arrange the flashcards according to the vowels and ending consonants, for instance “at”, “en”, and “ag”.

Place the words in a stack, facing downwards.

If your child is new to CVC, focus on one CVC group at a time. Begin by introducing the CVCs to the child using the Bingo flashcards.

Start by playing the 9-word Bingo Game Card. Ensure that the CVCs on the Game Card corresponds to the flashcards. Revealing one flashcard at a time, saying aloud the word. Help the child to locate the word on the Bingo Game Card if necessary.

Increase difficulty over time (which may be days or weeks if they are beginning readers) by covering the word on the flashcard with your finger, say aloud the word, and let the child locate the CVC corresponding to the picture on the flashcard independently.

Progress to the 16-word game cards after the child completes the 9-word game cards
