Kidz Amaze SAFRA Jurong & Toa Payoh – Absolutely value for money!

We like Kidz Amaze’s playground a lot. We experienced all the three playgrounds in SAFRA Punggol, SAFRA Jurong and SAFRA Toa Payoh, so sharing our experience here.

Our verdict is nothing but fun. While Jurong has the most exciting adventure playground with super tall slides, the Toa Payoh playground suits the younger kids. The Punggol outlet serves as a prelude to other more exciting water parks such as the Wild Wild Wet. Check out my earlier post here on our Punggol Safra’s experience.

And I love the price tag. After paying $65 for a one-off membership fee that will last until my youngest child is 18 years old, our entrance fee is only $10 per kid. It is enormous savings as compared to $20 for non-SAFRA member and $15 for SAFRA member. For the fun we get, the fees are reasonable as compared to some of the other indoor playgrounds we experienced.

Kidz Amaze SAFRA Jurong

Kidz Amaze SAFRA Jurong is one of the biggest indoor playgrounds in Singapore. Occupying 17,000 square feet worth of space, it houses a remarkable multi-level maze that is approximately 4-storey high.

The towering circular maze surrounds the ball arena. There are toy guns affixed on the vertical maze for the kids to load the foam balls into and shoot the balls right into the arena. However, I found almost all the guns not working.

Nonetheless, many kids had fun loading the balls into the vacuum machine on the ground level that sucks the foam balls to a huge basket at the top. Kids somehow love to wait for the bucket to tip over and enjoy the sensation of the foam balls raining onto them.

With a maze so tall, there is no reason to omit any super long slides. Other than a 2-storey tall multi-lane open slide, we also tried the intermediate yellow-and-orange tunnel slide that was pretty exciting.

It was great fun, but having sustained injuries after 2 rounds of skidding down the tunnels, we decided to focus on the other parts of the playground.

My 34-month old twins suffered the most burns. To be fair, we saw signs before entering the slide to keep our hand across our chest, like a letter ‘X’. However, toddlers being toddlers, they were not able to follow through the requirements. One of them left her hand behind her head by the time she reached the bottom of the slide.

Thus, it is necessary to dress the little ones in long sleeves as a precaution.

Kidz Amaze SAFRA Jurong also boasts one of the tallest spiral slides in the world. My big kids did not want to venture into the 18.5 metres high slide. Whereas for myself, I was not confident to leave the twins with the older kids. So we will save this probably hair-raising experience to our next visit.

Kidz Amaze

Moving around the vertical maze was challenging for a big kid like me. The tunnels were tiny and it was not easy manoeuvring around. I cannot imagine my hubby joining us. He will probably get stuck somewhere.

This Rainbow Maze is a new addition to the playground. We accessed into the colourful maze via the tunnels from the bottom of the net. There were rope ladders inside to help the kids up into the interior.

It was not exactly easy to negotiate ourselves out of the knitted net, into the second level of the vertical fun. The net was slippery, and so we needed some balancing skills and core strength to get ourselves up and out.

Tips to prepare yourself for the playground:

Wear long sleeves cardigan/jacket to protect your hands while on the long slide. The premise is rather cold. Our bodies were cold to touch after 2 hours of running. My son with sensitive lungs suffered an asthma attack.

Kidz Amaze SAFRA Toa Payoh is quite a substantial playground too. At 12,700 sq feet, kids have tons of space to run about. As compared to Kidz Amaze SAFRA Jurong, the layout and structure here is simpler, and I felt comfortable leaving my twin tots to run around with their elder brother and sister.

Kidz Amaze

Similar to Kidz Amaze SAFRA Jurong, there is a ball arena with foam shooters and a tipping bucket. More balls filled up the bucket and kids spent hours standing under or lying down below the bucket, waiting for the foam balls to rain on them. The sensation was simply “shiok” for them.
