4 Chiang Mai Restaurants Worthy to Check Out

This trip to Chiang Mai was filled with memorable food experience. Not only the food was excellent and affordable, but I also love how the surrounding ambience lifted my mood.

So here I am, sharing the Chiang Mai restaurants we went that brightened up my day.

Rustic & Blue

One of the best places to start your day. I love its brightly lit atmosphere in the morning, surrounded by the lush greenery in the garden that is something I have always been dreaming of creating in my future backyard.

The menu screams healthy food beautifully presented. We totally enjoyed what we ate. I will return for more if I have the chance to revisit Chiang Mai

A humongous croissant and salad dish. I thought the salad itself was already satisfying. Adding on the croissant was simply too much for me.

No need to say, the fried chicken waffle dish was my children’s top favourite. They gobbled up everything and licked the plate clean.

A refreshing plate of tomato salad which the adults liked very much.

Art Roastery

Located just 10 minutes drive away from the Chiang Mai Zoo, this is another cafe that is hidden in the garden. Any romantic buff will love to spend her morning there.

Other than having an outdoor cafe set in a romantic courtyard, the premise housed several birds, mostly in cages, except for a tiny little fella which was allowed to roam freely indoor and interact with the guests. My kids were happily entertained by their new friend, leaving my hubby and me to enjoy our meal in peace.

There was an occasion when the tiny bulbul stole our fish and chip. While we were more amused than annoyed, we gave the bird the small portion of the food it bit.

The menu was a mixture of Thai and International. Hubby and I went for some rejuvenating fruit breakfast while the little ones selected their own comfort food – fish and chips, and porridge.

Pong Yang Ang Doi

Pong Yang Ang Doi is a super scenic restaurant coupled with good food. Located in a landscaped valley with a trickling stream running through it, we sat facing the gardens of Mae Sa Valley Resort and luxuriated in the peaceful surroundings.

The Northern-style Thai cuisine was splendid, though spicy. We were stunned by the spicy mushroom soup which we ordered for the tots. While there was no mention of any spiciness on the menu, the staff explained that the spices used in the soup might not be to the tots’ liking. And the vegetable selection was limited too.

Baan Mon Muan

Baan Mon Muan is another restaurant in Mae Sae with an incredible view. Food is palatable too, though I think the dishes in Pong Yang Ang Doi was better. If you are going to spend a night in Mae Sae, there is no harm trying out Baan Mon Muan too. Click here for location of Baan Mon Muan.
